This is the last piece made at Acre Road, due to ill health I did very little for about a year so this piece goes from 2010/11.

Here it is under construction.

I was listening to a late night radio programme on the BBC iplayer. I have over 20 stations in my favourite box, mostly folk and country. With the iplayer one can get obscure stations one would never normaly hear, from the Hebrides to Ulster.

The proggrame was about Matt McGinn. Hard to find pics of him, this link might work

He was called the Scottish Woody Guthrie and wrote that peculiar, to our ears, type of folk that had Calypso, humour, popular tunes with gritty new words. His most famous song was for kids and was called 'Have ye seen a red yoyo?'. They talked about his life in Glasgow, how influential he was and then his ultimate descent into alchoholism, isolation and death in a fire. Then someone mentioned the details. He was living in a scruffy bedsit having estranged himself from everyone. He came home drunk and fell on a one bar electric fire which was on, and there he lay, all night being burned and cooked to death.
